Remember this? Yeah, it was worse than I thought.
Itchy and I had to go to the grocery store today. We are low on food and nothing will be open this weekend. We knew it would be bad. This exceeded my expectations. There were so many people. The lines for the checkouts went halfway down the aisles. It was crazy.
First up was Rams. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot in the parking lot. We had to wait for a cart though. Actual shopping took way longer than it should have. Itchy had to wait at the end of the aisles because there was no way to get a cart down the aisle, so he would wait there and I would go get the stuff we needed. Then it was time to wait in line. And wait. And wait some more. We stood in line for almost 45 minutes. 45 minutes people.
We brought those groceries home, put our now warm groceries in the fridge and headed off to IGA. Because we can't get everything at one store. It's not like these are specialty stores either. They are regular grocery stores but they carry very different things. Sure, there is some overlap, but we generally have to go to both stores for our groceries.
So we get to IGA and get lucky with a parking space again. It seems just as busy. We spend little time shopping. Just pick up the things we need. Then we wait in line. Again. For 30 minutes. Let's just say that our frozen goods were no longer frozen. But hey, it's not like this is the first time they have thawed and then been refrozen!
I miss Cub. And Super Target.
